Brooks offers patients with chronic pain a targeted treatment approach – Psychologically Informed Physical Therapy. This allows patients to receive skilled therapy interventions with a specially trained physical therapist, Anita Davis, DPT. There are many benefits to this approach, including:
- Patients can schedule single visits without having to commit to a full day of treatment.
- Patients will receive one-on-one physical training with exposure to concepts and pain coping strategies based on the original philosophy of the pain program.
- Other adjunct services, such as biofeedback and psychology, can be addressed as needed.
Anita Davis, DPT, was the primary physical therapist of the Brooks Pain Rehabilitation Program for more than 30 years, and continues to be the lead therapist for Brooks regarding complex, chronic pain rehabilitation. She is uniquely qualified to provide Psychologically Informed Physical Therapy that offers patients coping strategies and skills for self-management concurrent with physical therapy interventions.
We believe this is a win-win for patients by providing access to highly trained clinicians who treat chronic pain in a delivery model that does not disrupt home/work obligations. If you have someone who can take advantage of our programs and services, please contact us at (904) 345-7310, Option 1.
